Tax Liens

Posted on: 24th Mar, 2009 07:24 am
I have a federal tax lien - My brother and I own a property 75/25 split,I am the 25 - I have never lived there and want to quit claim to my brother-my mother left the property to us and I do not want it - is there any way I can vacate my rights in the property
Hi mikej,

I think you can simply sign a quitclaim deed to give up your interest in the property. You need to sign the deed as the grantor giving up your interst in the property to your brother who will be the grantee. The deed then has to be notarized and recorded to make it valid.
