I am getting married in jul 2010 - the house is not in foreclosure, but is slated for tax sale if the taxes are not paid soon.
I have never used the residence for tax purposes on my federal income taxes - but my credit history has been affected (delinquent taxes)

Hi paj,
As the property is in your name, you are responsible for paying off the property taxes. As you haven't paid them, the IRS must have placed a lien on it and listed it for a tax sale. You will have to contact the IRS and negotiate for a payment plan to pay off the tax dues. This will help you in saving your property from tax sale.
Thanks.
