i filed a quit claim deed for a timeshare in 2006 that i owned without a mortgage on it. i signed my timeshare over to another timeshare management company as part of my purchase aggreement. my old timeshare management company recently sent me a statement stating i owe over $2,000.00 in maintenance fees, late fees and special assessments for 2007-2009. i called the timeshare manager who stated that they had no record of my quit claim and that i was still responsible for payment of these fees. am i still liable for these fees? what should i do to absolve my self from this debt?
Hi GreginMichigan!
You must be having the documents stating that you quitclaimed the property to another timeshare management company. You should first show them to the original timeshare company. You should also consult an attorney. He will help you in dealing with the situation.
Thanks.

Send them a copy of the quitclaim deed. Have you filed the deed? If not, you should immediately. Don't rely on the management company to do it for you.
