we are a same sex couple. we would like to add my name to the title/deed. from the answers here, i assume that quit claim deed would be the answer, though i don't see anything here that relates to our particular situation. we are not recognized through either marriage or a civil union. thanks for your help.
Hi bulldogandrex,
You can definitely use a quitclaim deed to add your name to the title. A quitclaim deed can be used by anybody. You do not have to be recognized through marriage or civil union. Anyone willing to add another person to the title is free to use the deed. Here the one on the title needs to sign the deed as the grantor transferring his/her share in the property to either you or both of you as the grantee(s).
Thanks,
Jerry
