I am having a the house that I have lived in for over 20 years Quit claimed to me.
I would like to remodel it and everyone is saying I need to wait six months.
Is there any way around this?

As you've been recently added to the title of the property, you need to wait for a certain period of time before you can get a loan on it. However, the requirement may vary from one lender to another. I would suggest you to get in touch with the local lender and apply for mortgage.
