I just recievsd 100% disabilty from the VA. I am exempt from paying any taxes on our home, BUT, we are not married, this Nov 23 we will be and curently her name and my name are on the deed for a 50& 50% split. We want to put the deed in my name to get the 100% deduction. How do we go about that? Can we use the Quitclaim? Our morgage is around 120,000.

Hi James!

Welcome to forums!

You can ask your partner to sign a quitclaim deed and transfer the property ownership to you. Once you own the property solely, you'll be able to claim 100% deduction.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
