My Girl friend and I are both on a deed for a parcl of land IN CT. My name was never suppose to be on it to begin with but somehow it is. I want to remove my name and quitclaim any interest to my girlfriend. How do I do that?

You will have to sign a quit claim deed in your girlfriend's favor and transfer the property to her. You can ask an attorney to draft the deed for you. Your name will be mentioned as the grantor of the property whereas your girlfriend's name will be mentioned as the grantee to the property. Once you do so, the deed needs to be notarized and recorded at the county recorder's office.
