My husband and I have 2 houses. We owe for both of them. He is not to happy at the moment and I cant fix this. I dont want the houses I never have. Can I just talk to the lawyer we had to buy the houses and take my name off the homes so he can do what he wants with them. I dont want the money, my life was never about that. This way he can stay for me or I can leave and he doesnt feel he'll lose everything. Does he have to prove that he can pay for both homes if my name is off the papers.????
Or can I just sign papers saying I dont want anything, so he can sell or what ever without my signature.

hi sjohnson,
if you want to get rid of the house, you can simply sign a quit claim deed giving up your interest in the property to him. however, this will take your name off the title, but not off the mortgage, in case your name appears on the loan papers. to remove your name from mortgage, he has to refinance the loan in his name alone. but if your name is only on the title and not on the mortgage, signing the quitclaim deed will solve your purpose.
