Hello.
My husband and I are retired. We own our home. He recently incurred some credit card debt on cards issued to him and our adult son for business expenses in their joint business. The cards are being paid off regularly. I, however do not wish to be responsible in any way for their business choices. In the event the cards are not paid, I do not want our home to be jeprodised. Can I get the home quick claim deeded to me as a precautionary move?
Thank you.
Candice

Hi Candice,
Yes, you can definitely get the property quitclaim deeded to you to save it from the creditors.
Thanks

hi candice!
welcome to the forums!
if the creditors have not filed any lawsuit against your husband, then he can simply sign a quit claim deed and transfer the property to you.
feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Yes you can. A better solution is to have your husband incorporate his business.
