Is a qiuck claim deed enough

Posted on: 06th May, 2009 11:05 pm
My X-wife wants to sign over her interest in our property to my current wife. Will this take her off the title? And after filing it, who do I have to notify?
Hi tom,

Yes, your ex-wife can sign a quitclaim deed and transfer her interest in the property to your current wife. This will take her off the title of the property. Once she fills out the deed, you will have to notarize it and record it at the county recorder's office where the property is located.

Thanks.

tom, what needs to take place is that your former wife would need to quit claim her interest to you and your current wife jointly.

Hi tom4769,

Welcome to our forum.

I think that quitclaim deed is sufficient to get property from your ex wife to your still wife. Once your ex wife fell out & agree to quitclaim deed its possible easily.

Welcome for further queries.

Thanks & Regards.

Good new concept introduced.........
Quitclaim Deed- person disclaims the interest on real property and claims to other.
It is applicable in your case you have to disclaim ex-wife and claims to current wife this can solve your problem.

Also I want to share about "Quitclaim Deed" that quitclaim deed is provided in tax deed sales where property is auctioned off to pay outstanding tax debt.
