he had his attorney draw up a quit claim deed, dad singed it in front of witnesses and it was notarized. i know i am too file a dr-219 form but the questions are confusing. the home is in florida and i live in colorado.
What questions are you talking about? Are they in the DR-219 form? Since your dad has quticlaimed the property to you, so you will be responsible for paying the property taxes and other maintenance costs.
Whay value do I enter in the DR-219 form questios for contents of house and garage left to me? How do I place value on older furniture and other possessions? Do I have to mention contents? my brother is getting all the tools, tractors, mowers, etc in the garage. Am I required to pay taxes on these possessions as well as interior of house items?

Hi,
If you find it confusing, I think it is better to take the help of a lawyer as he will be able to guide you.

Yeah Michel, I too feel Debmarz should consult an attorney and then fill up the form or may be he can get some help from the County Recorder officials where he'll be recording the deed.
For the values of the contents in the house, I think you should provide just an estimate. regarding the furniture, someone dealing with such things can only tell you what they are worth now. And, you need not pay taxes on the interiors of the house; I haven't heard of such taxes. Your dad may have to pay gift taxes by the way.
