What rights does a trustee have after they have done a quit claim deed

Posted on: 12th Oct, 2010 12:56 pm
a sibling has been named as a trustee on my parents farm which is now hers because they did a quit claim deed. what rights to the proberty do my brothers and i have after my mom and dad pass. and do mom and dad have any rights while they are still living? we live in ohio. the farm use to be in a trust with all of us children without doing a quit claim deed but that changed and now is she is named as trustee. i would also like to know how this benefits my mom and dad. i am just worried about what they have done
Welcome sprite,

If the property is presently in the name of one sibling, then he or she has full rights over the property. Your brothers or other siblings won't have any rights toward the property. If your parents have not mentioned the life estate clause in the deed, then they don't have any rights to stay on the property.
