quit claim deed

Posted on: 18th May, 2010 06:43 am
my uncle used a quit claim deed to sign over a cabin to myself and my mom and another to have his house signed over to my mom. he passed away before we were able to get the transfer complete at the register of deeds office. i know we can do that now but what rights to other siblings have over that property. we have not found a will yet and he did not have anything else except a car and some furnishings.
Hi ladam,

As the property transfer is not complete, the other siblings will have equal rights to the property as you have. They can claim their share of property. They may even file an affidavit of heirship in order to get the property.

Thanks
