Disclaimer deed then Quitclaim deed

Posted on: 28th Dec, 2009 08:41 am
My husband bought a property with his VA loan, I signed the disclaimer deed so he could purchase on his own, we now want to sign a quitclaim deed to add me to the Title. The end of the year is approaching, if we do not get the quitclaim deed filed will there be any issues with getting tax credits on our 2009 tax refunds?
You can add your name to the property deed with the help of a quit claim deed. I don't think there would be any tax refund issues if you are not added to the property deed now. Your husband will be responsible for the taxes as he is the owner of the property as well as the mortgage.
