if you fill out and notarize a quit claim deed is in in affect immediately or is there a waiting period?
Hi patricia6383!
In order to execute a quitclaim deed, the deed should be in writing and it should also be signed by the grantor. If it's a homestead estate, it must also be signed by the grantor's spouse. Apart from this, the grantee will also have to acknowledge and accept the deed so that it can be recorded. States have their own acknowledgement forms which the grantee needs to fill out. The deed comes into effect after all these documentations are done.
