Hi, I married a man and have now found out that he is married and has a family in another country. I am getting my marriage annulled. My question is since we are no longer married and he is not legal to be in this country can I have him sign a quitclaim deed for the property we just purchased a month ago? He is on the verge of deportation and will probably not be allowed back in the country.
Yes you should get his signatures on a property transfer deed before he is deported out of the country. After the deed is recorded you will ownership of this property.
Hi Reyana,
As your ex-husband is in the verge of deportation, it will be right if you make him sign a quitclaim deed and get the property back to you. But before that, it is necessary to have his concern.
To prove the validity of the deed, get it notarized and record it in the office of the County Recorder.
