Quit Claim Deed

Posted on: 07th Aug, 2007 04:16 pm
I have left my husband. He is living on our property. I have property I owned before we married and it is in my name alone. I would like to quit claim that land to my son so my husband can not claim it. He refuses to leave our property and he is the type to try and take all or at least try and get me to pay him for part of my property. Any help would be wonderful
laurie, you can make a quit claim deed to transfer ownership to your son. after the deed is recorded your son will become the new owner. as the property is in your name there shouldn't be any problem with the transfer.

regarding getting him leave the property, you can take help of legal authorities. explain the situation to them and they will take necessary steps so that your husband leaves at the earliest.

As the house is in your name, you can quit claim it to whoever you want. If he refuses to leave then you need to take legal measures to remove him from property.

Complain to the police to take action so that he can be removed from your property.
