QuitClaim

can i be sued if this quit claim deed is in preparation for a divorce?
Hi Ljr,

Why you will be sued?

If you can provide more details then we can clearly say if there is anything unlawful that you are doing & because of which you might get sued.

What I understand is that you are going to get divorced and want to quit claim your house to spouse as per mutual arrangement before divorce proceedings start in court.

But I don't understand who will sue for that. You can quit claim the house if you wish to.

Hi Ljr,

If the divorce proceeding has started, then the court will decide about the property transfer. You will have no right to quitclaim the property. But if the divorce proceeding has not yet begun, then there is no problem if you transfer the property. No body can sue you for that.
