i have a time share in myrtlebeach, sc. i want to take my ex-husbands name off the deed. he got 1 in va and i got the 1 in sc in the divorce. how do i fill out the quitclaim deed form that i got from the courthouse in myrtle beach, sc. are there any examples anywhere i can follow along with?
hi cathy,
welcome to mortgagefit discussion board.
on the quit claim deed your ex husband will be named as grantor (as he will be giving up the ownership) and you as the grantee. after the deed is made, you will have to get it notarized and recorded with your county recorder's office. after the deed is recorded you will become owner of this time share.
do let me know if you have any other questions.
thanks

Cathy, you can read the details of how a quit claim deed can be used for getting ownership rights from your ex-husband from this page - http://www.mortgagefit.com/quitclaim-deed.html

How much time do I have to quit claim record my deed at the county courthouse in florioda
Hi
It is advised that a quitclaim deed be recorded as soon as it is signed and notarized by a notary public. I'm not quite aware of any specific time limit, but it's better to record it as quickly as possible.
