i had a quit claim deed drawn up on a property i own. i had this drawn up for the purpose of a trust. then, approximately 6 months after having the deed drawn up, i married. this marriage did not work out, and i divorced during the first quarter of 2007. so, my question is, does the quit claim deed help me, or is it simply a piece of paper that should go in a waste basket. if it helps, what is it's value? thanks.
Hi Mcbay,
If you have sign quitclaim deeds then you don't own it now. So, your spouse can't get his name on it.
I would like to ask you some questions. Have you bought the property together? Does your spouse have any share on that property? Do you have mortgage on that property?
Waiting for your reply,
Larry

If your property is with the trust and your spouse is not named as a beneficiary, then she will not get her name on the title.
