i refinanced my mortgage 3 months ago, now attorney's office want us to re-sign couple of paper, 1 document called "federal truth-in-lending diclosure statement", they want me to sign as borrower & my husband as co-borrower (only my income & credit hx was checked at time of refinance) however, both me & my husband's name are on the deed, does that automatically make my husband the co-borrower even though his income or credit hx was not check at time of approval ? thanks
Welcome gingerman,
Though your husband's name is mentioned on the property deed, it won't make him the co-borrower of the loan. Both of you need to sign documents in order to make your husband the co-borrower of the loan.
