Refinance separate land and manufactured home loan on rental

Posted on: 01st Nov, 2007 06:15 pm
is a consolidation refinance possible on a previous residence of this type now used as a rental?
Hi golfndiver ,

I think it is not possible to make a consolidation refinance on separate land and manufactured home loan as you cannot make collateral both the separate land and manufactured home. But you can talk to the lenders if they allow you or not for consolidation refinance.

Thanks,
Larry

Hello Golfndiver,

Are you planning to consolidate the two separate mortgages, one on land and the other on your manufactured home, into a single loan?

In that case, I think it is not possible to get such a loan.

If your manufactured home is on a permanent foundation, you may refinance that and the land has to be dealt separately.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, that is what I would like to do is to refinance the two separate mortgages into one. Looks like it can't happen! :-( The home loan os decent at 8% but that 12% land loan I'd like to change!!
Thanks again!

Hello Golfndiver,

In that case, I think you may try to refinance your land loan separately to lower the rate of interest.
