i'm doing a harp refinance and it will close soon. going from a 30 year with about 23 years left on it, to a 15 year fixed. i haven’t yet made the payment for march as i’m waiting for the harp to take place. so i'm wondering if it might be possible to not even pay the payment. just seems silly to make a payment on the old loan when it won't really bring my balance down all that much. is something like this possible?
Hi Guest,
As far as I know, when you refinance your mortgage, you will not have to pay your mortgage company directly for the last month, since the loan is being paid off. In my opinion, it will be better to discuss the matter with the lender or the broker.

Yes, I do agree with the suggestions of Adonis. It will be better if you could get in touch with your lender and take his opinion in this regard.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
