I bought our home in 2009 for 60000, and I lost my husband due to immigration issues in January of this year. At some time he will return to the US, just not sure when. I have since been forced into bankruptcy. I kept the house out, but I cannot afford the $788 P & I only payment and pay my Chapter 13 payment of $260 and utilities and insurance. My present rate is 16%, and I make 3000+ gross per month working in the local hospital. Before this happened, I was on the road to rebuilding my credit and was doing OK. But since my husband was not allowed back into the US, I no longer have his 35000 annual income. Is there anyway to help me
welcome wirkngrl,
you haven't included the property in your bankruptcy filing. in that case, you would be able to get a refinance if your property has equity in it. you should contact your lender and apply for a refinance. the lender will appraise the property to find out whether or not you've equity in it and then let you refinance the loan.

My lender is a hard money lender and will not refinance my current loan therefore I must find another lender
If your over 62 you should look into a reverse mortgage
