How do I re-finance a home loan if in a bankruptcy proceeding?

Posted on: 17th Apr, 2010 10:56 pm
i have filed for chapter 13 bankruptcy protection, and concurrently, am working with bank of america for a home loan modification. bank of america (bofa) is horrible to deal with. i would like to get away for bofa as soon as possible.
Hi rquinnm,

As you have already filed bankruptcy, Bank of America won't help you with a loan modification. The court must have issued an automatic stay on all your creditors. Thus, they won't be able to take any actions against you. You will get a payment plan depending upon your financial situation to pay off the loan within 3-5 years.

Take care.
