Yes. If you decide to use FHA or VA financing, your home will need to be on a HUD-approved permanent foundation, or you can have it installed. I've worked with lots of homeowners who have had them installed, and the price is in the $3,500.00 - 4,400.00 range. Also, its been my experience that when a permanent foundation is required, skirting hasn't been installed either, and it's required for HUD-approved mortgages, so that expense will need to be considered also.

What is your current interest rate? I know of several lenders that will refinance doublewides as long as you're on a permanent foundation.
