i did a loan modification and have a credit score of 588 but
i have been making my payments on time for the past yr can i still refinance. i also had a bankruptcy 7yrs ago

With a credit score of 588, it will be difficult for you to get a conventional refinance. However, you can apply for a FHA refinance and check out if the FHA approved lenders can help you in this matter. With a credit score of 588, you will be able to get a FHA loan.
