We refinanced our house last year and placed it into our living trust however there was a misspelling in the name of the trust that did not get caught until a couple of months later (an L was dropped from one part of one of the names on the trust). The company (LSI) handling the paper work created a new quitclaim deed for us to sign with the correct spelling of the trust name and paid for the re-filing of the corrected deed with the county. We checked with the attorney who created our trust and he felt this should be sufficient to clear this up. I would appreciate knowing your take on this. I am still a little concerned over this coming back to haunt us down the road. Thanks, Kelly
Hi vktm,
Welcome to forums.
I think the attorney has informed you correctly. The company has taken the right step in creating a new deed in order to rectify the error.
Thanks
