Refinance to pay off debt

Posted on: 27th Aug, 2009 08:48 pm
my credit card debts have crossed its limits. i took a mortgage loan last december.i had to pay pre-payment penalties. i have been suggested by one of my well-wisher that i should look to refinance my mortgage and pay off my debts. what do you suggest?
If you refinance your loan now, you would be liable for paying the pre-payment penalty. Can you afford paying that penalty? If you can afford it, then you can refinance the property and pay off your unsecured debts with the extra money that you receive. If you are unable to pay the penalty, then you should negotiate with your credit card company. You may also contact any debt settlement company and check out if they can help you in settling your debts with your credit card company.
