Refinance

I have just refianced and also took the cash out of the equity to start building another home. Is there a time period before I can sell the home I just refinanced? - did not match any documents.
Hi Lillie,

Welcome to the forum.

I do not think that there is any time limit to sell your house after refinancing but you will have to inform your lender about this and have to pay the full amount what you owe to the lender. Otherwise the lender may not allow you to sell your house.

Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

Thanks.

Lillie,

Check your loan agreement and find out what it states regarding selling your property. Perhaps you will be able to sell but you will have to pay off the loan immediately and you won't benefit from the refinance as because you aren't staying for long to recoup the closing costs.

If it's an FHA loan that you'll refinance, there may be a cap up to which you can earn profit by selling the property.

Thanks.

There is not time period before you can sell your home. Just make sure you don't have a prepayment penalty. You can check this by looking at the final mortgage paperwork that you signed at closing. It is usually located on the note. Other than that, you will not be penalized for selling your home at any time that you see fit.
