my sister in law is living in the house but refuse to let anyone in the house by changing the locks and we don't want to lose the house
unless the heirs are 62 years of age, they can't hold a reverse mortgage. the heirs will have to refinance the existing mortgage into a conventional loan in order to save the property. if your mother-in-law has left the property to your sister-in-law, then she will have to refinance the loan.
