My property was foreclosed on 2006 the first mortgage was paid off but second lien (ballon PUD rider) is a charge off. Do I still have to pay the second since it was attached to the property? Per the lender the 2nd lien was not attached. Per the deed it was. Can the lender put a judgement on the credit report if never paid off? My plans are to purchase another home but how can I do that if they are still charging me the second from a property that was foreclosed 5 years ago. Should I consult a mortgage lawyer? Thank you

you will be liable for paying off the second mortgage though it is a charge off. if the second lender has assigned the account to a collection agency, then you'll have to contact the collection agency and pay it off. you can always consult a mortgage lawyer before taking any further steps.
