I have a situation. My first is 228k, 2nd is 107, 3rd is 15k. My house is worth maybe $270k. We contacted an attorney would has us getting ready to file Chapter 7. But I would rather stay in my house if possible. My first finally said we qualify for the HAMP. They would make our first $2180 a month. That still doesn't address my 2nd and 3rd. Those payments with no mods equal about $800 a month. We can't afford $3000 for house payments. We truthfully can only afford $2200 or maybe $2400 at the most. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Hi nordlandcc,
It is good to note that your first mortgage lender has agreed to qualify you for HAMP. I would also suggest you to contact your second and third lender and make them aware of your financial hardship. There are chances that they may also help you by giving you an affordable payment plan to pay off the dues.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
