I have a 1st mortgage with Citimortgage. I also had a 2nd mortgage with Citifinancial that's been closed in paid off. Recently, the 2nd is being reported by Eqifax as charge off. I continue to dispute this. I wrote a letter to Citifinancial Mortgage to request validation and never heard back from them. I called the Citifinancial last week, spoke to about 8 people and they finally said they will take out the charge off statuson this acct. I've been trying to get this taken cared off since Sept 2007. The damage that the credit bureau Equfax is doing is ridiculous. The other bureaus are not reporting it as charge off -- thank God! Citifinancial reassured me that this will be ixed in 2 weeks. If, this is not fixed, what should I do next? Any sggestions?

as you have paid off your second mortgage then you should get a release letter from the bank. ask then to give you a release letter asap and then show it to the credit bureau equifax.

dispute it directly with the credit bureau so long as city is in agreement this will get takenoff your credit report.
