My wife and I received a piece of land from her mother in 1993. How do I figure its value to figure my capital gain?
Hi Pop!

Welcome to forums!

I think an appraisal will help you know the value of your land. You can contact an appraiser and ask him to appraise the land. Once you know the value of the land, you will be able to figure out the capital gains tax you need to pay when you sell it off.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
