My dad is deceased and my mom is currently living with my sister. She owns a home that is paid for and there are no debts owed against the home which is worth approx $120,000.00. My sister is the power of attorney for my moms estate. Do we need to see a lawyer (and what type of lawyer) to do a quick claim on her home? And is this the best option. Someone told us that she can sell the house to my sister and myself for $1.00. We live in the state of Tennessee.
Hi Shelia,
Your mother can transfer the property to you and your sister with the help of a warranty deed as the property is free and clear. Your mother can mention the monetary consideration to be $1.

how much is a quick claim deed in tennessee. we are going to give it to our son
Hi alice,
The cost of the quitclaim deed varies from state to state. Moreover there are transfer fees and other related costs associated with it. It would be better if you could contact your county recorder's office and get to know the exact price from them.
Thanks
