my husband and i are taking out a heloc (tx). i owned the home before we were married. the lender wants a quit claim deed to add him to the title. i have the form but don't see a way to just add him. it looks like i'm signing the whole property over to him.
Hi Ribobbrubaker,
While filling out the form, you need to write your name as the grantor of the property. In the place of grantee, you need to write both your name as well as your husband's name. This will make both of you equal owners of the property. You can even contact a real estate attorney and take his help in filling out the deed.
Thanks
