As a young man in the service many years ago, I purchased investment property in Horizon City, Texas. Twenty years later, it became clear that the property was not a good investment and I contacted the city regarding a method to divest myself of the land, and was told that I should not worry, as once the value of the land matched the tax bill amount, the taxing authority would reposess the property. Fast forward 35 years, and I have just receive a whopping tax bill along with a letter threat to sue for the amont plus fees and court costs if the bill is not paid. Am now seeking once again a way to get my name removed from the deed. Any suggestions regarding how that can be accomplished?
Thanks

Hi eroom,
You can remove your name from the property deed by transferring it to someone else. However, the tax lien will remain on the property and the new buyer will want you to pay off the tax lien in full.
Thanks
