Not on home loan

We are refinancing home. The loan will be in husbands name only due to some credit issues. If something were to happen to him would I be able to keep our home? We live in Texas.
If your husband was to pass, and you are not on the loan, there are two things you can do. You can try to assume the mortgage if he passed, or continue paying on the loan as normal. Make sure you are on title to the home.

hi zsrn,

i agree with what chris has said. you will be able to save the property if you pay off the debts. in order to do so, it will be better if you could get in touch with the lender and either assume the loan or go for a refinance.

thanks
