I purchased a home in TX while married. Divorce decree reflects house is solely mine. Is it wise to remove my ex's name from the deed? How would I do this? Thanks.
Hi,
As the divorce decree clearly states that the home is your separate property, you should have no problem if your ex's name is listed on the title. However, in case you still want to remove your husband from the title, you'll have to get a quit claim deed signed by your ex whereby he/she will give away his/her share of the property to you.
