I’m selling property for relatives in Texas. They have no green card, social security number or papers. They were told they can sell but a percentage of the money will be given to the federal government. Is this true? Help please!
If they do not have the green card, social security number or papers, then how could they purchase the property? In case a private person sells property they legally own, the federal government has nothing to do with it. However, there may be back taxes that have to be paid out of the sale before anything. These would be property and local taxes but not federal taxes.
