How do I get a title for a house that I am building and financing myself?

I am building a house in Houston, Texas that we are
building and financing ourselves. How do I obtain a
title for it once it's complete? Do we have to have a
closing, if so, who would we close with?
possessing a title isn't the key. it's not like a vehicle which comes with a title. you obviously must already be the owner of the land on which you are building this home. that makes you owner of whatever is on said land, as well. you should find that you are listed as owner of record in your local municipality or county, wherever the land records are maintained. go check there and you'll find yourself listed as the owner - that's really all the title you're going to need, in my estimation.

okay...my disclaimer...i am not a lawyer, so if a lawyer says something different, that's going to have to take precedence over what i've opined.
