I have a timeshare with Wyndam. 126,00 points all paid in full. I am unable to take vacation as often as I like. I contacted several companies and they all want 500-600 dollars in advance to sell it. Is that nomal?
it sure seems to be normal. i have one i want to unload, too. even after contracting with these outfits, i see no action, however. i suppose the one i have is of insufficient value to get a lot of play.
i suppose our alternative is craigslist, or buying ads in usa today or something like that...but unless you sell quickly, those can be long-term things too.
but yours is paid in full - why not gift it out to people, charging a few dollars so you can pay your annual fees?

Yes, it is common for the companies to charge an upfront fee and the fee you were quoted does seem to be in line with what I have heard.
In addition to craigslist as George mentioned, you can also list your time share for sale or rent on ebay.
Renting or gifting is always a great option as well. I know people who often gift a week to a charity having an auction so they can get the tax deduction. Just another thought.
