i live in virginia and i wanted to know if the mortgage company will go after me if mu future ex husband foreclose his house. My name is on the deed but not on the mortgage. My credit history and score was not use to obtain the loan. Also if he foreclose how is that going to affect my credit thank you
As your name is not mentioned on the mortgage, you're not liable for the mortgage payments. If the property is foreclosed, the lender won't come after you to recover the dues. Moreover, your credit won't be affected due to this. The lender will go after your ex-husband in order to recover his dues.
