In order to save the house do I need to file a chapter 13 before the foreclosure hearing or can it be done after the hearing. My guess is that the completion of the hearing will change things but i am not sure. I just have a couple of days to decide about the #13, so time is of the essence. I live in the state of Wisconsin.
Thanks

Hi Hshargis,
You can file Chapter 13 before the foreclosure hearing. However, I would suggest you to contact a bankruptcy attorney and take his suggestions in this regard. He will let you know which chapter of bankruptcy is best suited for you. If you file Chapter 13, you will get a repayment plan from your lender and you will have to pay off the dues as per that plan.
Take care.
