Mortgage Relief

Posted on: 04th Nov, 2010 03:53 am
Hi,
My Dad is terminally ill, and can barely pay his bills due to loss of income from my Mother's death in Jan. Is there any way he can get some type of discount in his mortgage payment. He has no intentions of keeping the house or passing it on to anyone he is upside down..but he does still make his payments on time. he has accumulated many medical bills which his medicare does not cover so i wanted to try and get him some relief on his mortgage which is around 700 a month for him and really puts him in a tough spot after paying it. I would appreciate any input you have..thank you Gina M Palm Coast, Florida
Hi Gina,

Welcome to mortgage fit,

Once your father gets Ok from illness he can join one of the federal govt .program specifically designed for the senior citizens....

Further information about this can be found on below mentioned link

Your father should contact his lender and inform him about his financial situation. There are chances that the lender can offer him a loan modification. This will help him in getting an affordable repayment plan to pay off the dues.
