Chapter 13

Chapter 13

My husband and I were successfully discharged from our ch 13 this last April. We surrendered our home in Maryland in the ch 13 in 2010 and were recently notified that the home is just now going through foreclosure. We entered into the ch 13 because my job moved to texas (Ive worked for the Army for 15 years) and our home valued at $150k under what we owed due to the market crisis in MD. I make about $80k annually and my husband also makes around $50k annually. We have been working on our credit and are at about 620. However we were told recently we will not be able to qualify for a mortgage for a few years post our discharge date. However are there any lenders who may approve us? How long would we need to wait?

You can contact your local FHA or VA or USDA lenders. Usually, to qualify for them, you must have made at least 13 regular Chapter 13 plan payments and have the approval of the competent bankruptcy court.
