Hi Susanne. We owned a 2nd home in nevada. Live in California. Nev residence was foreclosed. we got a 1099a. What do we do about the 1099a when filing taxes. Tax man says we don't have to pay taxes on it 'cuz we got a 1099a and not a 1099c. Is this true?

Hi Guest!
Welcome to forums!
You will have to attach the 1099a form with your tax documents. It is true that as you haven't received the 1099c form, it means that none of your debts have been forgiven. So, you won't be liable for paying any taxes for forgiven debts.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
