I am recently widowed. My house is paid for and I am wondereing if I will lose my homestead exemption and over 65 property exemption if I quit deed my house into my childrens names.

Hi guest, It is true that if you quitclaim the property to your children, you will lose the homestead exemption and over 65 property exemption. The property should be in your name in order to claim those exemptions. Thanks
