I own a home and have a co signer. I have never missed a payment and dont intend too and have a pretty good credit rating. The mortgage is for 5 years and I have only owned the home for 10 months and now the co signer wants off the mortgage and has told me that he can force the sale of my home so that he can be removed from the paperwork. Is this true? I have never missed any payments or bills for the home.

Hi Guest! Welcome to forums! If you've never missed any payments, then the lender won't foreclose the property. However, if you wish to remove the co-signer from the property deed, then you should contact your lender and apply for a mortgage refinance. This will help you in getting the mortgage transferred in your name. Feel free to ask if you've further queries. Sussane
